Fix: age of corrections keeps climbing

The 'age' number keeps going up and your fix drops. That's your data link, not your sky.

What you see: a number labeled "age", "AoD" or "diff age" goes up past a few seconds, and you drop from FixThe best RTK status. The receiver has finished its math and your position is good to a couple of centimeters.Full definition to FloatA middle RTK status. Corrections are coming in but the math isn't finished, so you're only good to about a foot.Full definition or SingleNo corrections at all. What it means

Old corrections no longer match what the satellites are doing, so the rover can't hold a fix.

Fix it

  1. Check cell signal. Weak signal is the usual cause. Move to higher ground, or try a hotspot on a different carrier.
  2. Check the hotspot or SIM data plan. Some plans slow down after a limit.
  3. Close other apps using data on the same phone or controller.
  4. Try another Mount pointOne specific correction stream on a caster, like one channel on a radio. Each one comes from a certain station or network setup.Full definition or ask the operator if the CasterThe internet server that hands out correction streams. Your rover logs in to it, like tuning into a radio station.Full definition is having trouble.
  5. Plan a backup. Record raw data so you can use PPK with NOAA CORS if the link keeps dropping.
